The brief

LifeLab is a series of fun events based in Cambridge with the intention of educating the general public, and to celebrate popular science. The new initiative needed an exciting brand and accompanying marketing elements to enter the big wide world with a bang!

A bubbly brand

Jasmineʼs challenge was to create a vibrant brand mark with supporting tools to enable a strong and consistent brand for the series of events. She created a bright colour palette and used a soft, curvy sans serif typeface to support the ‘funʼ concept behind the brand. The ‘bubblesʼ in the brand mark are designed to evoke the feeling of scientific experiments and act as separate brand assets to carry into other designed elements.

Engaging design

From maps to brochures, posters to t-shirts, the brand was extended into numerous marketing assets. The designs were required to inform and engage the public, and support the events in a consistent manner. Jasmineʼs personal favourite designs from the collection include; the folded map, which sets a trail around Cambridge to highlight key scientific locations, and the events programme, which included a pair of different maps to show the locations of all the events around Cambridge.
